Maker Club
Within the club courses attended by our middle school students, education spans a wide range of topics—from basic computer skills to digital citizenship, Google Drive usage, fundamental algorithm activities, 3D modeling, graphic and animation design, web design, age-appropriate coding, robotics, electronic circuit assembly, and age-appropriate programming languages.
We organize numerous events at our school and actively participate in many events nationwide. Projects and works produced by students are exhibited at these events, and we also compete in various competitions.

Our goal is to help students transform their classroom skills into real-life applications and develop a habit of producing solutions.
Destination Imagination Club
The Destination Imagination Club aims to develop students’ creativity, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving skills. Our seven-member team will participate in the DI Turkey national competition at the Efes Congress Center in February.
Students engage in two types of activities during DI club hours:
Instant Challenges: Teams complete a task within 5–10 minutes.
Team Challenges: Teams work on a theater, architecture, improvisation, science, or technical problem and prepare a solution.
Destination Imagination is a global program that teaches children and young people essential skills for success in school, careers, and life. It combines STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) education with art and social entrepreneurship, fostering project-based learning environments where students bring their ideas to life. Students develop 21st-century skills including Creative & Critical Thinking, Teamwork, Problem-Solving, Risk-Taking, Project Management, Patience, and Self-Confidence.
Mind Games Club
The Mind Games Club helps students recognize and develop their cognitive potential. It aims to cultivate original problem-solving, practical thinking, and decision-making skills. Activities include puzzles, Sudoku, chess, Rubik’s Cube, and word games, which enhance focus, memory, and logical reasoning.
The club also emphasizes social responsibility projects, teaching students to apply these cognitive skills for the benefit of others. Additionally, mind games boost confidence, concentration, and foster an inquisitive mindset while helping protect the brain against aging, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease.
Project Club
The Project Club’s main goal is to nurture responsible, collaborative students who can express themselves, develop their talents, and use them for the benefit of society.

Developing problem-solving and reasoning skills,
Persevering in the face of challenges and producing solutions,
Strengthening research skills through experiments, observations, and quantitative methods,

Drama Club
Modern education emphasizes learning through practice. Creative drama classes enhance students’ learning by promoting creativity, imagination, decision-making, problem-solving, social intelligence, and interpersonal skills. This hands-on learning approach engages students more effectively than traditional computer-based or social media learning.

Art Workshop
Students develop creativity through artistic expression. At İSTEK Semiha Şakir Schools, our goal is to cultivate students who appreciate visual arts, respect the environment, embrace tolerance, and develop aesthetic sensitivity. The workshop is open to all students interested in learning different techniques and materials. Students explore art history, study artists and periods, and transform recycled materials into original artworks. Techniques include pencil, watercolor, and acrylic painting, among others.
Football Club
Offered once a week for two class hours in Primary, Middle, and High School levels, football develops physical and mental endurance. Students start with basic ball skills in Primary School and progress to defense and offense training in Middle and High School, emphasizing teamwork.
Basketball Club
Held once a week for two class hours across all levels, basketball is ideal to start at age 7, promoting socialization and cooperation. Students progress from basic ball skills to team tactics, and selected players join school teams to represent the school in competitions.
Swimming Club
Held once a week for two class hours in Primary, Middle, and High School levels, swimming strengthens muscles, balance, coordination, cardiovascular health, independence, self-confidence, and teamwork. Students begin with basic breathing exercises in Primary School, and advanced training is provided in later years, with talented students participating in school team competitions.
Gymnastics Club
Offered to 1st graders once a week for two class hours, gymnastics supports physical and mental development for both boys and girls. Students learn fundamental movements, develop strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance, and perform team routines in year-end events.
ADIM ADIM Club
Held once a week for two class hours in High School, selected students train with running sessions along the Dalyan-Caddebostan coastal path. The club teaches students the value of physical activity, social solidarity, and contributing to NGOs. For six years, students and teachers have participated in the Istanbul Eurasia Marathon, supporting organizations like Koruncuk, AKUT, and TOFD. Students also engage in charity activities such as second-hand sales.
Ballet and Dance Club (Grades 1–3)
The club helps children explore their bodies and movement, learning classical ballet steps and participating in Zumba Kids sessions. Dance develops coordination, confidence, concentration, health, and happiness.

Environmental Club
Middle School students participate in activities to raise awareness about protecting the environment, finding solutions, and applying them, aiming to leave a better world for future generations.
Magazine Club
This club publishes a school magazine covering activities, events, special days, awards, and interviews with teachers and students. It promotes reading and writing as enjoyable activities and showcases the school’s achievements.
Cinema Club
Established in 2016 for High School students, the club explores film as a medium for understanding humanity, nature, history, and the universe. Students study film creation, produce short film scripts, and participate in film festivals and screenings.
Folk Dance Club
The club introduces students to traditional dances from various regions of Turkey, fostering cultural appreciation, confidence, teamwork, and stage presence. Students perform at ceremonies, year-end events, national holidays, and other special occasions.
Chess Club
Chess develops strategic thinking, concentration, motivation, discipline, planning, sportsmanship, and acceptance of success and failure.
Primary School: Focuses on forming school teams and participating in tournaments.
Middle School: Encourages students interested in chess to advance their skills through practice and peer play.
