From October 2025 to February 2026, our 3rd and 4th grade students at İstek Atanur Oğuz Primary School  and their peers and teachers from nine countries; Türkiye, Portugal,Georgia, Greece, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Jordan, Spain  and Poland, worked together in the eTwinning project “Mindful Minds, Smart Screens.” The project aimed to help children develop healthy digital habits, improve emotional well-being, and become responsible and mindful technology users.

Throughout the project, students explored topics such as mindfulness, balanced screen use, empathy, online safety, and media literacy through engaging classroom activities, collaborative international tasks, and online meetings. They created posters, digital stories, songs, videos, comics, awareness campaigns, and an internet safety magazine using various digital and AI-supported tools including Canva, Padlet, ChatterPix, ChatGPT, and Suno.

An important part of the project was international collaboration. Students communicated with peers from partner countries during online meetings, answered common reflection questions on Padlet, exchanged ideas, and worked together in mixed teams to produce shared outcomes. Parents also actively participated in monthly family activities that encouraged healthy technology habits and mindfulness practices at home.

The project successfully strengthened students’ creativity, English communication skills, digital literacy, intercultural understanding, and teamwork abilities. It also provided teachers with valuable opportunities to exchange good practices and integrate innovative teaching methods into their classrooms.

Mindful Minds, Smart Screens became a meaningful learning journey that empowered children to use technology thoughtfully while building friendships and connections across Europe and beyond.
